Ultrasound can be used during certain procedures to increase the information available to the surgeon at the time of surgery.
It assists in visualizing the tissues and tracking cannula position, but it is an additional control tool, not a guarantee.
01
What ultrasound allows during surgery
During the procedure, ultrasound use allows:
- visualizing the tissues;
- tracking the cannula's position;
- assisting with control of the plane of application;
- increasing the information available during surgery.
02
Visualization of planes and structures
Real-time imaging during the procedure helps track anatomical planes and structures near the treated area. This is especially relevant in body contouring procedures, where control of the working plane is part of the safety criteria.
In selected situations, imaging can also help evaluate previously injected materials, such as permanent fillers. These cases require individual assessment.
03
Ultrasound in gluteal fat grafting
Gluteal fat grafting requires anatomical knowledge, cannula control, continuous attention to the plane of application, planning of the amount and distribution of fat, and adherence to safety criteria.
In Dr. André's practice, ultrasound is used in every case of gluteal fat grafting, as part of a broader safety protocol.
04
What ultrasound does not do
Ultrasound is an additional control tool. It does not eliminate the risks of the procedure and does not replace:
- anatomical knowledge;
- technique;
- planning;
- continuous cannula control;
- surgical experience.
05
Technologies are tools, not guarantees
Technologies can contribute to:
- visualization of structures;
- control of planes;
- cannula tracking;
- tissue retraction;
- contour refinement;
- monitoring;
- reduced handling of materials.
Frequently asked questions
No. Ultrasound allows visualization of the tissues and tracking of the cannula, but it does not eliminate risks. It is part of a protocol that also includes anatomical knowledge, technique and continuous control.
No. Its use is defined according to the procedure and individual planning. In Dr. André's practice, ultrasound is used in every case of gluteal fat grafting.
